Project Overview

PCSD managed the acquisition and renovation of a South Los Angeles facility adjacent to an existing Green Dot Public Schools campus, creating a new home for Ánimo Pat Brown (APB) High School. The facility, a former mattress factory, included a multi-tenant industrial building and a large parking lot. This was an adaptive reuse project, converting the existing facility into a modern campus for APB’s 600 students.

Construction on the new campus was completed in 2020; due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person instruction resumed in 2021. The campus features well-appointed classrooms with high ceilings, fully equipped science labs, and a large artificial turf field created from the former factory’s parking lot. When APB moved to the new site, Green Dot’s Ánimo Florence-Firestone Middle School moved into the newly vacated adjacent site, creating a unified campus environment for students in grades 6-12.
