Project Overview

PCSD partnered with Equitas Academy to negotiate a 20-year lease for the school site starting in January 2012. The school is located in the Pico Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, just west of downtown. 

Equitas Academy #1 was started in 2009, and is the founding campus of Equitas Academy Charter Schools, with its inaugural class of kindergarten and 1st graders. Today it educates 450 students in grades K-5. The 25,000 square-foot renovated facility has wide hallways with high ceilings and ample windows.
