Project Overview

STEM Prep was seeking a permanent facility for their Math and Science College Prep High School. PCSD identified a facility in the West Adams neighborhood that they owned and leased to STEM Prep. PCSD provided project management services to complete the renovation of the historic church sanctuary for use as a much-needed multi-purpose space. The goal was to preserve the original structure and stain glass windows, upgrade the interior by removing unneeded walls and balconies, and add new mechanical systems, ADA compliant bathrooms, and a wheelchair lift for the second-floor offices in an adjoining annex. The facility consists of a total of twenty-four classrooms and administrative offices including a college counseling center in the educational building plus a multipurpose room, meeting rooms, and administrative offices in the chapel building.
