Project Overview
PCSD partnered with Ednovate to develop a new home for Esperanza College Prep, a college-preparatory public charter high school in East Los Angeles. The new school provides a permanent home for Esperanza, which was located on a Prop 39 LAUSD site. The school serves 490 students.
The new facility features collaborative pods and studio spaces designed around Ednovate’s model of flexible and collaborative learning. A large two-story atrium with stadium seating provides an open space for student presentations. The school also includes a dance studio, art room, basketball court, administration, and teachers’ lounge. The building facade provides plenty of natural light to brighten classrooms and passageways, as well as views of the surrounding community.
