Project Overview

Navigator Schools opened Watsonville Prep in 2019 in a shared district-school facility with 187 students in grades K-2. Because of space constraints at its founding location, Watsonville Prep had to offer grades 3-4 on a separate campus. Navigator Schools partnered with PCSD to add a middle school and bring its entire TK-8 program onto a single campus.  

PCSD identified a former Gottschalks department store in downtown Watsonville for Navigator’s new Watsonville Prep campus. With this new facility, which opened to students in September 2021, Watsonville Prep will be able to serve 565 students in grades TK-8. The facility has 19 classrooms, an upstairs and downstairs reception, teachers’ lounge, media center, gym, food service room, basketball court, play space/climbing wall, and handicapped parking.
