Project Overview

As Phase II of a larger campus development project, PCSD provided a secondary school facility, gymnasium, and soccer field for Aspire Public Schools in Huntington Park, CA. The school site formerly housed a truck dealership and maintenance shop; the campus design involved combining 14 separate lots as well as making use of land previously occupied by the city. Phase I of this project included a privately financed secondary school that opened in 2010 with a capacity of 560 student seats.

Phase II of the campus project was completed in 2013, creating a new school building with 510 seats for students in grades 6-12. The facility includes 16 classrooms and two auxiliary rooms as well as a multi-purpose room. The gymnasium has a capacity of 580 seats and also functions as a performing arts space, while the soccer field is laid with artificial turf. This site has been built to Field Act requirements and LEED Silver certification.
