Inner City Education Foundation or “ICEF Public Schools” is a nonprofit charter school management organization serving communities in South Los Angeles. ICEF operates high-quality, public charter elementary, middle and high schools. ICEF’s goal is to develop and manage charter schools that prepare minority students to attend and compete academically at the top colleges and universities in the nation.
ICEF’s mission is to transform South Los Angeles into a stable, economically vibrant community by providing first-rate educational opportunities and by annually graduating 2,000 high school students.
PCSD developed a ground-up middle and high school campus for ICEF in the Crenshaw section of South Los Angeles. Phase I of this project included 600 seats and opened in the fall of 2005. Phase II will include an additional 200 seats, a college counseling center, office and faculty space. PCSD also developed an additional MS and HS for ICEF which opened in Fall 2008. Capacity at both these schools were expanded during 2009.
