Historic Project

Alliance Judy Ivie Burton Technology Academy High School

Located at the former site of the Sheenway School and Cultural Center- a privately funded community school that operated 38 years with co-founder, Aunt Dolores Sheen. Ms Sheen has been recognized for peacekeeping, public health, education, and community outreach by prominent individuals such as Bill Clinton.

The Sheen Educational Foundation will retain ownership of the land. A joint venture between the Alliance and PCSD will create a LLC to develop the new buildings and ground lease the land.

The existing fully enrolled Heritage High School, presently located a few blocks away at 9719 Main Street, was relocated into this site, while an Alliance middle school moved from temporary quarters to the Main Street site.

The new building includes 24 classrooms, a multi-purpose room, conference room, science labs, a computer lab, and administration and counseling offices. In addition, 59 parking spaces will be provided on-site.
