PCSD will build a new educational campus for Endeavor College Preparatory Charter School to open in the fall of 2017. The project involves the purchase of an existing commercial building with over 82,000 sq. ft. of space on 1.75 acres, in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles less than a mile from Endeavor’s current K-3rd grade campus. The building will be renovated to create a new school for 650 ECP students in grades K-8. In total, there will be 20 classrooms, a multi-purpose space, teachers’ resource room, administrative office space and a play area. The building also houses Arts in Action, an existing K-5 charter school with 360 students that will continue to occupy the site as a tenant. ECP is currently located across three Prop 39 campuses, and the new facility will allow them to operate on a single site, supporting school culture, accommodating families with students in different grades, and allowing staff to work more closely across grades.
