2010
In 2010, PCSD completed 2,682 seats for 7 schools on 6 campuses. PCSD built on land ground leased from a neighborhood serving non-profit organization, a new Heritage College-Ready High School campus for 550 student for the Alliance for College-Ready Schools. PCSD also improved the former Heritage High campus, adding a parking lot and recreational areas for the incoming Heritage College-Ready Middle School. And for the Alliance, PCSD completed major tenant improvements at Alliance's HS #7 campus to house the new Alliance College-Ready Middle School in anticipation of completing a full new school building and grounds for a new middle school at that campus in 2011.
Also during 2010, PCSD assisted an affiliate of Aspire Public Schools in completing a $93.3 Million tax exempt bond offering through California Statewide Communities Development Authority. This offering allowed Aspire to finance $62M of new construction including two deliveries in 2010: the West Lane Charter School campus for 1017 K-12 students on 11 acres in Stockton and the Pacific College Preparatory Academy in Huntington Park. . In total, the bond deal financed 9 schools for Aspire across the state with a capacity of 4,000 +- students. From these bond proceeds, PCSD is also developing 2 new campuses in Oakland and East Palo Alto plus making improvements in Sacramento, all for delivery to Aspire in 2011 and 2012.
Finally, in 2010, in furtherance of its commitment to Non-CMOs, PCSD built out a 520 seat campus for Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts.
