Project Overview

Monsenor Oscar Romero Charter School is currently operated by YPI Charter Schools (YPICS) on LAUSD’s Berendo Middle School.  In order to build a permanent facility for the charter school, YPICS entered into a long term lease with the District on a 1.1 acre site at the northeast corner of the campus.  The project serves 405 students from 6-8th grade in a new two-story building with 16 classrooms.  It also includes administration offices, a multipurpose room with servery, lunch shelter and underground parking.  The charter will have use of Berendo Middle School’s sports fields through a joint use agreement with the District.
