Project Overview

PCSD worked closely with KIPP: Bay Area Schools to develop a permanent facility for KIPP: Heritage Academy, located in the Franklin-McKinley School District in San Jose.  KIPP and PCSD partnered with the District to develop on district-owned land. PCSD invested $3MM of Bay Area facilities funds in this $10MM project.

The new KIPP Heritage site includes classrooms, administrative offices, outdoor amphitheater, as well as a gymnasium and multipurpose room, featuring indoor basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts.

The school opened on time for start of school at maximum capacity of 446 students. KIPP is maintaining a positive relationship with Franklin-McKinley School District, which has a school co-locating on the site with KIPP Heritage.
