Project Overview

KIPP: Bridge serves grades TK-8 and will serve up to 765 students.  KIPP Bay Area Schools signed a long-term lease agreement with OUSD to develop Lafayette Elementary, a former OUSD middle school campus, through a 40 year lease to operate and develop on the site. PCSD constructed two new buildings — one for the middle school classrooms and another multi-purpose space — totaling 22,000 sqft to add to the existing 55,000 sqft district facility to provide sufficient space for KIPP to accommodate its full enrollment. This charter-district partnership is providing a proof point for collaboration, while giving schools access to affordable public land in the communities they are already serving.

KIPP: Bridge was able to move into the existing facility in August 2016 after completing minor renovations. PCSD led the selection of a design build project team consisting of both architect and general contractor for the new 17,500 sqft facility, and managed the construction to completion. The addition was completed in Fall 2018.
