Project Description
Ednovate – East College Prep
2019 Project
Project Overview
PCSD recently completed a project with Ednovate for USC East College Prep in East LA. This included the acquisition of an existing school site with a 11,085 sq. ft. 2-story building and the construction of a new 20,000 square foot education building – a flexible educational space suited to Ednovate’s small group learning curriculum – for 460 high school students. The new educational building also includes ground-level parking, classrooms, science classrooms and a teacher’s lounge.
USC East College Prep serves 460 ninth through twelfth grade students. More than 92% of students qualify for free- or reduced-price lunch. The student population is 90% Hispanic/Latino, 4% black, 3% Asian, 1% white, and 1% two or more races. Nine percent of students are English-learners, and 17% receive special education services. The school greatly exceeded LAUSD high school averages on state testing.
