Pacific Charter School Development (PCSD) Seeks to Increase Racial Equity in Development of Public Charter School Facilities

Pacific Charter School Development, Inc. (PCSD) was founded in 2004 with the mission to create affordable, high-quality facilities for charter schools with high academic results. We work solely with non-profit operators of K-12 charter schools, primarily in the Los Angeles and Bay Areas of California and in the State of Washington. PCSD has extensive experience managing charter school construction projects, having completed $900M+ in total projects, leveraging philanthropy, private financing, and state funding to create 100+ campuses serving over 42,000 students across multiple school districts and municipalities over the past 15 years.

PCSD currently has 20 active projects across the three regions and targets seven new projects each year. As we continue our work in partnership with charter operators to increase educational equity, we seek to grow our network of capable real estate development professionals for current and future projects. In particular, PCSD aims to extend project opportunities to Black professionals and Black-owned/Black-led organizations as well as other underrepresented people of color in the following fields:

  • Real Estate Brokers
  • Legal Counsel (Land Use & Entitlements, Acquisition/Lease, Contract Law)
  • Lenders and Underwriters
  • Architects and Engineers (Civil, Structural, MEP, Geotechnical, Landscape Architects)
  • Environmental Consultants
  • Land Surveyors
  • Community Outreach Consultants
  • Cost Estimators
  • General Contractors
  • Trade Contractors
  • Deputy Inspectors
  • Low Voltage Vendors
  • Commercial/Educational Furniture Vendors

PCSD is also interested in engaging and collaborating with other organizations that are making efforts to increase racial and social equity within their own practices. If you would like to be considered for project opportunities, or to learn more about PCSD’s work and our efforts to increase racial equity in our practice, please write to info@pacificcharter.org.
